What does this guideline cover?

This guideline provides an overview of the main tasks to be carried out during the implementation stage of an Activity.

What will this guideline do?

This guideline will help NZAID staff ensure that Activity implementation:

  • strengthens relationships with partners and other stakeholders
  • ensures participatory approaches are followed
  • reconfirms Activity design (including actual work plans)
  • ensures appropriate monitoring systems are operational
  • encourages adaptive management
  • reinforces the principles set out in the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness (2005).

Who is this guideline for?

This guideline is for NZAID staff and our development partners. The level of involvement of NZAID staff in the implementation of Activities will vary considerably depending on:

  • scale of the Activity
  • level of risk involved
  • management arrangement for the Activity.
