What does this guideline cover?

Communities of Practice (CoP) are cross agency teams formed to promote learning and the incorporation of good practice in the implementation of New Zealad Aid Programme policies via its programmes and activities.

The CoP tool includes guidance and good practice for those establishing, coordinating or participating in CoPs.  It contains information for directors and team leaders regarding staff participation on CoPs, and refers to the role of the Development Leadership Team (DLT) in the CoP processes.

What does this guideline do?

This guideline supports Communities of Practice in achieving their objectives to:

  • contribute to the translation of NZAID policy into good practice;
  • provide a means of drawing on knowledge and experience, identifying and promoting good practice, developing skills, and promoting learning across the organisation;
  • share information through proactive outreach activities to staff and development partners
