What does this guideline cover?

This guideline covers how NZAID manages the process of developing a programme strategy for country, sectoral or thematic programmes. It has annexes which describe the content of a programme strategy document, issues for the development of joint programme strategies and checklists for briefing a strategy team.

What will this guideline do?

This guideline describes what programme strategies are, who should be involved, how to go about developing one, and consultation, peer review, approval and distribution processes. It clarifies the roles of different actors in developing a programme strategy and gives good practice tips on managing the process.

Who is this guideline for?

This guideline is primarily for NZAID staff managing the review or development of a programme strategy. It is also of interest to programme teams, programme strategy steering groups, reference groups and strategy teams, including contractors and partner governments.
