HOMF | Head of Mission Funds Guidelines

Purpose

Through the use of HOMFs, NZ posts can:

provide support for specific small-scale community focussed interventions;
respond quickly to small scale community needs without the need for more complex aid procedures;
support appropriate development interventions in non-priority sectors or geographic regions beyond the footprint of the New Zealand aid programme;
increase their knowledge of local conditions, organisations and issues;
and where some of the considerations above are met, posts can also strengthen broader NZ interests e.g. constituency building, NZ profile and linkages with non-NZAID work being carried out by NZ nationals and organisations.
